Research Interests

My research at KAUST includes the investigation of the combustion chemistry of isomeric fuels, gasoline surrogates, and research (FACE) fuels in atmospheric/low-pressure laminar premixed flames using photoionization mass spectrometry. I am also working on the examination of the effect of fuel doping on the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in counterflow diffusion flames. In addition, I am working on the investigation of low-temperature combustion chemistry using jet-stirred reactors. I am also investigating autoignition/extinction limits of gaseous and liquid fuels using counterflow burner. Finally, I am working on the evaluation of the effect of biofuels addition to gasoline surrogates on the performance of homogenously charged compression ignition (HCCI) engines.
