Social Profile:
During the 6 months I spent in KAUST I worked on pyrolysis of Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO). I built a thin film reactor connected to a GC (or GC-MS) to study the composition of the products of pyrolysis. In addition I also worked on the characterization of HFO using TGA and TGA-FTIR analysis. These works are needed to understand deeper the combustion behavior of this complex fuel, in order to design better burners and engines in order in turn to reduce pollution. During this experience also my interest in engines grew and in general in all the combustion aspects.
